I'm putting my foot down

I must be the most ineffective parent on the face of the planet.  Seriously.  My kids don't listen to me.  They don't.  I know all of you moms are going to tell me that no kids listens and that I'm just imagining this. No, I'm not.  I think I'm going to have a household meeting tonight so that I can be informed on why they don't listen.  I figure give them the opportunity to tell me how I can do it better is probably a horrible thing for me, but it might actually help them.  Or maybe I will find there is not enough Xanax on the planet and I'll go live in the world of therapist for the rest of the year or until the insurance runs out.  Either way someone is going to make a point tonight.

Please let it be me.  Please!

Do it!

let me tell you what works at my house. Bebo loses the right anything that runs on electricity or batteries.

Works every damned time I guarantee you!

I think we need to have that same meeting at our house. I got so frustrated today that I put the kids in the tub. They won't get out and they actually like each other when they are in the tub. We have cabin fever so bad we are all at each others throats

I'm sort of terrified of having kids.

I used to put the kids in the bath early too. Now they are 23, 22 and 17, and can get the bus across town, or a flight across the country. All by themselves! Sometimes in the early days it's just a matter of survival, smiling, and doing your best at the time.

Looking forward to the results of the household meeting. Do share!

Saying the words "why dont YOU tell ME what I should do since you clearly have all the answers" just fuels my son's fire to be a pain in the ass but it scares the bejesus out of my daughter hahahaha Kids. Gotta love 'em and sometimes ya gotta knock 'em upside their little pointed heads. :-)

Godspeed. Let us know what happens!

I wish I could say something helpful, but I'm still a newb at the parenting game. I have an "I'm 4 so I know everything" year old who won't listen, and a "I'm 2 and I don't hear you" year old who also doesn't listen. I tried whispering and they just thought it was funny as all get out, and made their own voices even louder. *sigh* Is there a Mommy-On-The-Brink retreat we can all meet at somewhere? LOL

How did it go?

Bunny I wish I knew the answer to that question. Yesterday I would have said great. This morning we jumped back a whole block instead of a few steps. I guess only time will tell.
