Presents? For me......?

OK, yes they are for me, I bought them. Fortunately, not with my own money! Yea!! Someone else's money. That is the best kind. True Fact!

So I spent the rest of my William Sonoma Gift Card from my birthday last night. Got my first piece of All Clad. WHOO!! HOO!! An 11" French Skillet. I also purchased a salad spinner - that was really for the husband and he's in charge of salads. I know that is a strange comment, but he likes salads and he's always wanted one, so I made him happy and me happy.

That is a win-win situation if I've ever heard one. OH NO, did I just say something positive. The world must be ending.

Its Official.

I am finally in my kitchen.  I have about 5 more boxes in storage that needs to be unpacked, but I'm in, my dishes have been washed and placed in my cabinets.  I couldn't be happier.  My contractor is the most amazing thing ever.  He did my kitchen and den in under 6 weeks.  Almost no problems and we only went about $400 over the bid.  Yes, I know you want his number and if you ask nicely you can have it.

I've spent a Bazillion dollars today.

Yes, a Bazillion.  I was going to say a gazillion, but it was truly only a bazillion.

How can one little bitty person spend a bazillion dollars in a day?  Purchase new, yes NEW, Stainless Steel Appliances that's how.  OMG! OMG! OMG!  I also had to write a check for materials for the cabinet guy.  That's two checks in one day.  I get a stomach ache every time I write a check.

Hold on a sec, let me check something....Nope still no weight lost.  You would think that as many stomach aches as I have had over the past week and as many times as I've gone to the "little girls room"  I would have at least lost a pound.   Guess I'm not that lucky.

Not only did the amazing floor guys get my old floor removed and new floor lain in 48 hours.  I am almost completely sheetrocked.  Whoo Hoo!  This is sooooo exciting (and sickening).

Pray for my sanity. Please.

I have spent the morning trying desperately to find somewhere else besides my house to be.  The contractors came today and started on the floor.  At one point today you could look down and see dirt where my kitchen and den floor used to be.  Just so you know, I've taken before shots, you'll get to see it when its all done.  What are we doing?  We are putting hardwood floors in the kitchen and den (replacing 100 year old linoleum and 5 year old carpet), putting recessed lighting in, refacing most of the kitchen cabinets, and building new cabinets for cooktop and double ovens.  Moving the washer/dryer from the kitchen/garage to a hall closet.  Granite counters, stainless appliances and removing a built-in desk and replacing it with built-in bookshelves.  I'm so excited I could scream.  I'm also so nervous I could poop my pants.

Yes, we are FINALLY getting the updated kitchen I've always dreamed about.  OK, maybe not the one I've always dreamed about, but the one we can afford.  I ran out of places to go, so we are locked in the back room.  Whoo Hoo!  Listening to pounding, hammering and some other noise that just plain makes me cringe.  I'm about to go and drop off one of the children to play with a friend and I guess the other one and I will find something nice to do together.

I'm deep breathing, for serenity.
