Um, do they still make Calgon? I need it to take me away.

I'm having one of THOSE days.  Actually, I'm having one of those weeks.  Why you ask?  Well how about I just bullet point it for you:

  • There was a fire at the house on Saturday
  • I am WAY behind on my school work
  • I am having to deal with the school district regarding H2's diability
  • Emergency Vet Bill - need I say more
  • I just had a flat tire
  • The pollen count is ridiculously high (4000+)
Those are just the highlights and all this is since Saturday.

Someone, send me a bottle of wine.

Dear Blogger:

Blogger, bless me for I have sinned, its been 9 days since my last post and all hell has broken loose. My youngest has had a fever for 6 days. We are scheduled for the doctor (again) tomorrow because this is just too long. I have gone insane being home this many days with a sick kid and chosen to clean their room and re-arrange furniture.

Only you mothers would understand the total disgust I discovered when I moved the beds. I will save you the horror, because let me tell you - IT WAS BAD!

I was actually contemplating multi-dosing of tylenol and motrin Friday morning so that he could go to school and I could go to work, but at 4:30 when his fever shot up over 101 - well, that flew out of the window. I will now have to go talk with the principal because of his absences this semester. Oh, lovely day.

On a lighter note, I get to take Cagey - the baby kitty - back to the vet for another antibiotic shot as some stupid cat in the neighborhood beat the you-know-what out of him last night. I found him on the porch and he came in right away, which should have sent lightbulbs flashing in my brain but I was in a I've had a sick kid all week fog and it didn't register. I would have taken him last night, but I had a few glasses of wine and decided it would be best not to drive. 7 pm was the earliest I could get in today.

Well, thanks for visiting with my blogger. I'll look forward to next time.

Caption Please:

Yes, I realize I need to wipe off the table, but as I was cleaning off the table I came back to the dining room and found this.....

I can't seem to come up with a good caption.  I mean was the cat looking for left over pizza or telling us "No More, you are on a diet!"  Or does he just have a box fetish?

Stuff & Things

I feel like I have nothing to blog about.   My world is totally and completely boring.  I have probably 100 loads of laundry to do, instead I'm watching a Hockey game, playing with my cat, TURCO, and freezing hamburger meat I bought in a huge family size package - due to the sucking economy and all.  Speaking of wants, there are about a million things I want right now:

  • A full bank account
  • A well-healed husband
  • A flat iron for my hair (its very scary these days)
  • kids that don't throw towels on the floor after their showers
  • a maid - I seriously hate cleaning and I never seem to accomplish anything when I do.
  • Some new shoes, and new wardrobe.  Mine is seriously in need of some help
  • Some, new camera lenses
  • Turco to have a shut-out
A few things that would make my life better, more fun, the last one would make unstableblogger happy too.

I need some inspiration, maybe a good nights sleep.  I could care less if I ever drank wine again and I don't even feel like reading, both of which I think are signs of the apocalypse.  The husband wants a lemon cake, but seriously, who likes lemon cake except for my husband.  He wants me to make one for him.  What do you think?

Nurse Dijea to the rescue

I feel overwhelmed again!  My poor little Cagey got beaten up again.  So after bleeding all over my bed, then oozing nasty slimy pink puss, we were off to the vet, shaved and shot up full of antibiotics he's home making the most awful of noises.  Probably whining about being dragged of to the nasty icky vet and then having to get a needle shoved in the back of the neck.  But hey, what kind of mother's are we if we can't treat our kids and/or animals with a few needles because we have their best interests at heart?

My little Hunter is sick again too.  He is a snot machine.  MACHINE!  I swear.  He is so full of snot that it is coming out of his eye sockets.  This has happened once before and I am so not looking forward to all the evil things I have to do to clear it out.  At least he's old enough to blow his nose and I don't have to suck it out of his head.  He also has a cough that has traveled down to his chest.  So either we are about to have a full blown asthma situation or we have the croup.  WHOO HOO!  The sad part about this is that he doesn't complain and when he does, OMG you might as well just take him to the ER and look forward to being admitted.  He started complaining about his through yesterday too.  So we will be spending the rest of the day curled up in Mommy's bed watching movies, playing video games and hopefully napping.  My guess is he will be playing Reader Rabbit or some other computer game all day, but whatever makes them happy.  Right?

Then Mario happened.

I was having a very good evening.  I got into the shower to wash the cemetery dirt (see post below if you're wondering) and got out of the shower to find this....

I think that Mario must have thought the roll of toilet paper was ceiling cat. HEH! HEH! HEH!  But all I saw was a bunch of little wet pieces of toilet paper all over my bed that I just put clean sheets on today.

Life is so NOT fair.

CSI: Rodent Edition

Am I just the biggest wimp on the face the earth.  Why you ask?  I couldn't tell you if you didn't ask.  My 7 year came inside after following the cat this morning to tell me there was something dead in the back yard.

DEAD????!!??  UGH, I really didn't want to hear this come out of my kids mouth - especially when Daddy is not home.

So I cautiously walked outside to where the child was pointing, and there less than a foot a way from the play set was I'm sure was the biggest rat in the universe dead in the grass.  EEEWWWW!!!  After doing some deep breathing exercises I mobilized the troops (that would be the two children) and went to work.  I walked into the garage and grabbed the shovel.  E went and got the bag of corn shucks from the back porch and H well, he informed me the rats head was cracked open.  ***Little vomit in the back of my throat to enjoy***  I picked up the rat with the shovel, dumped him in the bag and off we went to the trash can.  E carried the bag as far at the back gate - WAY TO GO E!!!!- and then I went in for the kill and dumped it in the trash can.

SCORE!

I feeling the need for an emergency session with my therapist, but decided to save the money and blog about it instead.  I am still a little shaky, but I think I might survive.  My three cats may never be allowed inside again as I'm not sure who to blame for this and I don't want dead rat germs to come near my body in the form of a cat kiss.  YUCK!

Hello, can I get a timeout?

I'm having one of those days where nothing goes right. NOTHING. I woke up with a headache, probably due to one glass of wine too many last night. I forgot to get Hunter his breakfast when he asked me. Instead I got it 10 minutes later and he wasn't happy about that. The cat wouldn't move from my side last night - including sleeping on my pillow (there was then no room for my head on the pillow).

I'm at work and nothing seems to be going the way it is suppose to.  I want to run away, heck I want to take a nap. And to top it all off, instead of going home and getting comfortable I get to go to a giant family dinner. Don't get me wrong, I will enjoy everyone there. But it will probably 15+ people. Do you know how long it takes to get 15+ people served at a Steak House? Too Long! I haven't had lunch. No one will be able to make a decision, my husband will assume I want to take over with the children who I haven't seen all day because I'm at work and all I will want to do is get a little quiet time from the crazy day.

At least I won't have to do dishes!

I'm hiding under the covers

Ms. Manic is a little down.  I'm sure its related to a man, I'm not just sure which one.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but they are the root of all women's problems.

Seriously, they are.
  • It could be Hunter, he graduated from Pre-school, proving I'm old.
  • It could be Ethan, I'm sure he did something, I just haven't figured it out yet.
  • It could be The Husband - do I really need a funny comment on that.  If you have ever had one you know what I'm talking about. Love you honey!
  • It could be anyone of the cats - Turco is hogging my pillow, Mario is frustrating Turco & Cagey, well, he wants to be fed at 5 am.  Its just not right.

I don't even know if its worth figuring out.  UGH!

Don't look if you are a cat lover. This hurts.

I am really pissed off right now.  I just spent money at the vet that I shouldn't have had to.  My kitty, my little Cagey.  You remember he got caught in the soccer net.  Well the neighborhood tom cat, beat the crap out of him.  He ripped the hair off of him from knee to foot on his back leg and he has a a gaping wound on his haunch.  The problem is I'm friends with the owner of this cat, yet I would like to call animal control and have him picked up.  They won't let him in the house anymore.  He fights with all the cats in the neighborhood and he sprays my bushes, front door, back door, all the kids playground equipment.  F**k!!

I realize that cats fight and all that crap, but this is ridiculous.  Don't you think?

MMMM, give me some more.

Not for about 4 cats have we had a cat so addicted to catnip.  The children and I went to Petsmart to pick up some cat food and we got the cats a new scratching pad.  I rubbed a little catnip on it and Cage-E won't leave it.  He is rolling on it, licking it, rubbing it, scratching it, taking a bath on it.  He won't leave it.  WON'T!  I feel like a pusher.  I have now given my kitty catnip  and he's probably going to be looking to me for his next fix.

Another Mouth to Feed!

Introducing Cagey.  That would be "cage-E".  Don't ask The Husband named him.  He was a surprise to everyone in the house - except of course Mason.  The kids have something new to torture.  Yipee!!

Aren't we cute?

Yes, this is me and the old man. Aren't we cute? Can you tell from my writing I've had a little wine? I had my Office Christmas party tonight and it was wonderful. Everyone told my husband how wonderful I am and have I started selling RE yet? We had a fabulous dinner, I had probably one too many cocktails. I was in the dress and my 4 inch heels and got either you look fabulous or your boobs are hanging out - it all depended on the age of the person talking to me.

I'm off to bed. If anyone from my office reads this - you looked fabulous!

Blah day, Cat Comes Home.

Today has been the most blah day. Nothing really bad happened, I didn't get anything accomplished except emptying the dishwasher and reloading it. Oh the grocery store, but I wouldn't have done that except that there was absolutely nothing in the house to fix for lunch.

I did find the missing cat though. Zelda, who often goes out on what my husband calls a sabbatical. She just goes missing for several days. Then invariably I will look out the back door during a torrential downpour, and there will be Zelda waiting to come in. Today, Hunter and I took a trek around the neighborhood screaming her name. I found her walking across the street around the corner. Unfortunately, the evil devil cats - Turco & Mario - chased her down a storm drain. So I spent the next 15 minutes sitting on my butt on a wet street calling for my cat to come out of a storm drain. She was way down the pipe too. Thank God she is back in the house because its suppose to get close to freezing tonight and my very old Zelda doesn't like the cold. Ethan will be ecstatic that Zelda will be sleeping with him tonight.
Isn't she pretty?

Is sleep really too much to ask?

I have trouble sleeping. It takes me forever to get to sleep at night, and then the slightest noise will wake me up (usually Mason's snoring). Even though I know I should get up and do something productive, I am so tired and lay in bed trying ever so unsuccessfully to get back to dreamland.

That being said, it is even worse these days. With the whole sick Hunter problem, now Ethan is a coughing machine, although he is much easier to take care of than Hunter. He got up at 11:15 last night and got in bed with me. Snuggled up all tight against me. This was fine until I had a hot flash (I'm not even 40!). Mason went to sleep in Ethan's room and I made them change beds - probably somewhere around the 1AM to 2AM hours. Then Hunter wet the bed at 5:30 so I'm totally running on empty.

Although my husband is very helpful around the house and will do anything I ask him most occasions, if he is already in bed asleep, forget asking him to get up. So I guess I am destined to be up at night with children, cats & whatever else there is to take care of for the rest of eternity. For the record, we are never getting a dog, I am not getting up to let that creature outside to pee at 3 am. I'm just not.

I just love presents!!!!!

I got up from the exciting news to make sure the cats were in and Turco, my Manx, was pouncing on something in the grass by the driveway. I called for Turco to come in, and nicely asked if he would kindly leave whatever prey was in his mouth outside. He dropped the snake on the patio, and came inside.

Zelda came home.

My husband and I adopted a cat the first year we were married, she's a beautiful Russian Blue. Anyway, Zelda has a habit of just disappearing and it drives me crazy. The first time she disappeared I wandered the neighborhood for 3 days calling her, day 4 I called all the vets in the neighborhood and hit all the animal control shelters in the city. I did this three times in one week. Then in the middle of a thunderstorm I look up and she was sitting there waiting to come in.

Every year since then she disappears for about a week. This time she was missing since Saturday. Ethan will be glad to know that she's been home and been fed. She doesn't like the little kitty and I wouldn't be surprised if she runs off again. She won't come inside during the summer anymore because I think the air conditioning bothers her. She doesn't move very fast anymore and if you get anywhere near her she just hisses. The only person she will go to willingly is my father.

Dad, Zelda needs some lovin, when are you coming to visit her? Maybe you'd like to take her home with you?

Turco Strikes Again

Today, Hunter had a friend over & while I was snapping pictures of the boys on the swings, Turco, the Manx & true "mouser", came over the fence with a present in his mouth. I'm so excited to announce that today, Turco killed a big green lizard. It is now dead with its mouth open in the middle of my backyard. I don't do dead animals. As a girl, no where in the rule book does it say I have to pick up dead animals.

Yuck!
