That's it for me today.

Today was just one of THOSE days. I'm going to invoke the Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

See you tomorrow.

Maybe its a TOOMAH...

I think something is wrong with me. SERIOUSLY WRONG. I'm feeling lovey-dovey. Yes you heard me right. I want to hug people and talk to people. I actually wrote that I loved my husband on Facebook. How pathetic is that? I do love him despite his addiction to video games and horror flicks - both of which I could totally do without. Oh and his propensity to burp at the dinner table - sometime even burp a sentence. Yes, he communicates through burps, well sometimes.

I am sarcastic and strange. Creatively obnoxious and well just plain different. I AM NOT LOVEY-DOVEY. Although I am a hopeless romantic. Didn't see that coming did you?

Except for this break so far today, I am cleaning - I think I even hear birds chirping. You'd think I was in a disney movie, except there is no way I would look as good as Amy Adams in curtains or get birds, squirrels and cockroaches to help me clean. Wouldn't that be nice? I might even go grocery shopping on a Saturday. Just because.

Okay, maybe not.

I have volunteered to make school packets next week. Am thinking about cleaning out a closet oh, and I'm going to paint my bedroom. What the heck is wrong with me? SOMEONE BRING BACK DIJEA.

I'll probably have to send a bottle of wine after this

I almost fainted a little while ago. Seriously fell out of my chair in shock after reading a friends Facebook update. She follows this blog, and will probably read this and its not like she didn't put this out there on Facebook so I'll cross my fingers I won't get in trouble for posting this...

SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHO COLDPLAY IS.

Yes, you heard me right. I immediately offered to enroll her in the Dijea School of Music. I am known for coming up with obscure band that are then mainstream 6 months later. I La-la-love music and seriously need to burn her some CD's or something, but then I stop and I wonder if I actually did that would she listen? If she doesn't know who Coldplay is will she know other bands like Band of Horses or Keane, should I even try to introduce her to Chevelle or the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Maybe a little Ting Tings.

In her defense, she listens to NPR, but so does my mother and why anyone would want to learn things or stay updated in this incredibly depressing time is beyond me, but then I'm shallow and have no drive so I guess that is my answer.

What if she's never heard Radiohead or The Foo Fighters? OMG, Where are my smelling salts?

I need a Mulligan!

To say this morning didn't start out well, is well, an understatement. The Husband had to be at work early so he was out the door before we were fully awake. At 7:20 we realized that H2's shoes were in The Husband's car. He was 25 miles north of where we were so that was a wash. I rushed everyone in the car and was backing out of the driveway when I realized Target didn't open until 8 AM.
FYI, its testing week, so late is NOT a good thing.
So I went back inside tried to deal with the Diana Ross hair I had this morning. Put the straight iron to it and swished a little mascara on. No, makeup for Dijea today. Then rushed and dropped E off at school. Then went to Target with H2 in a pair of socks. Finally got him a pair of tennis shoes that fit him and we walked to the check out counter with H2 in his sock feet. The cashier was kind enough to cut off all the tags so we could put them on right there instead of walking back to the car for me to cut them off. So I rushed back to the school - had to walk him in to sign the tardy slip. Then left my brand new sunglasses on the counter at the school. Luckily they were still there and the secretary is holding them at her desk for me.
I realized in my stress haze that I hadn't taken my blood pressure meds and they were back at the house so I rushed back to the house grabbed my pills and rushed to the office. Sigh...
All this before 9 AM.

Hey politicians, Want my vote? Then fix this...

I am yet again disappointed in our public school system.  Maybe I'm jumping the gun (I doubt it) but they don't seem to be eager to help my poor little Hunter.  We went back to the eye doctor today and Hunter's left eye has lost more vision and he is now a -8.0 in his left eye.  His right stayed steady at -6.75.  UGH.  The doctor says he might be dyslexic as well, but when I called the school counselor to talk to her as she suggested after this follow up, to only be pushed off yet again.  "We don't test until after 1st grade."

OK, so my doctor says he needs to be tested as soon as possible, yet they say the won't test him for another 18 months.  Are you sure you are educators?  I mean have you heard of early intervention?  I have put my best people on the job.  A more passionate advocate I couldn't find.  She's not in my town, but has been an honorary member of our family for a long time.  She'll find out the questions I am lost on and point me in the right direction.

I am also working on some other avenues and Unstable, I might have to borrow LMSKP, but I will hold off until I get my bearings on this.  We have a referral to Scottish Rite, I will get on that even if the school district decides to lower itself and test my kid.

How frustrating is that?

I can fix the ecomomy!

I know you are sitting around wondering how I can do this. Well, here's my plan - oh, and my husband helped. The government says we need $700 Billion in bailouts. Well, we can do this soooo much cheaper. We have approximately 305 million people in the US. So we take we give everyone $1 million dollars to pay off their bills and "BOOM!"; we've fixed the economy for only $305 million instead of $700 billion. Now I understand some business might fail, but think of all the mortgage companies that would be fixed if everyone could pay off their mortgages. And if business made stupid decisions, they deserve to fail.

Now, there are people who say that you give someone a million bucks and they are going to spend it on other things instead of paying off their bills. OK, lets revise this. Everyone presents a detailed list of their bills, government pays off current bills up to $1 million dollars. Then we could solve the worlds problems for even less, because my bills don't equal a million dollars. Do yours?

Dijea for President. Or maybe Secretary of the Treasury.

And the moral of this story is?

I am not a morning person. NOT! I apparently can't even train my body to be alert in the morning. On August 25th of this year, the kids started back to school and I started back to work. Due to having to be ready for work when we head off to school, I must get up at 5:50 in the morning. OK, that having been said, I rarely make it out of bed without hitting the snooze. I also have a "second" or "back-up" alarm, because I have been known to turn it off and just go back to sleep. Three weeks of training is apparently not enough.

So this morning, I got out of bed with the back-up alarm and jumped in the shower. I washed and conditioned my hair, shaved my leg. Got out blew my hair dry, got dressed, made the kids lunches, got the kids dressed. Dropped them off, came to work. I am currently starving because I didn't get up in enough time to make myself a lunch. So I'm following a co-worker who brought their lunch, one because I'm hungry and it smelled good, but also because she's fun to talk to and it has been a little slow today. She asked me how I was I said cold, she said it isn't that cold, I said I shaved my legs this morning and look they are already grown out. I looked down and almost died of embarrassment. That is not a typo in the second sentence of this paragraph. I literally shaved my leg, my right leg to be exact and didn't shave my left leg. Now I know that several of you have written embarrassing stories about how you went to work in two different black shoes, or a black shoe and a brown shoe exactly alike. I am walking around my office in a skirt and high heels with one shaved leg and one hairy leg. Its not slightly stubbly either. I look like a German woman named Helga who has never been introduced to a razor.

I have turned about 14 different shades of red, was laughing so hard at my stupidity of not noticing sooner and am bawling when I walked into the staff offices. I couldn't even get the story out of my mouth because I couldn't compose myself. I know have to sit at my desk afraid to remove my legs from the cover of my desk and somehow manage to have the courage to pick up the children and hope the mom's standing around me don't notice my unpainted toenails and hairy left leg.

I need a search party for my sanity

Have you ever had one of those days?  Yes, we all have that was an incredibly stupid questions.  I on the other hand have had one of those weeks.  Yesterday, I spent 4 hours stressed to the hilt dealing with insurance companies/doctor's offices & State Regulating Offices.  We tried installing my over the range microwave and the installation instructions were not included.  So that had to be switched out.  Oh and my brand new double oven that was installed.  The bottom oven rattles when you turn it on.  The repair people are coming Monday to fix it because TODAY they are working on my floors.  We have the lovely hum (I mean scream) of a floor sander.  I slammed the crown of my head on the corner of a cabinet.  This was about an hour ago, I am still seeing double. Oh, and my husband is currently at the doctor for his back.  The back story is a whole different post.

Happy Day.  I'm off to see if there is a magic happy pill somewhere.

Pray for my sanity. Please.

I have spent the morning trying desperately to find somewhere else besides my house to be.  The contractors came today and started on the floor.  At one point today you could look down and see dirt where my kitchen and den floor used to be.  Just so you know, I've taken before shots, you'll get to see it when its all done.  What are we doing?  We are putting hardwood floors in the kitchen and den (replacing 100 year old linoleum and 5 year old carpet), putting recessed lighting in, refacing most of the kitchen cabinets, and building new cabinets for cooktop and double ovens.  Moving the washer/dryer from the kitchen/garage to a hall closet.  Granite counters, stainless appliances and removing a built-in desk and replacing it with built-in bookshelves.  I'm so excited I could scream.  I'm also so nervous I could poop my pants.

Yes, we are FINALLY getting the updated kitchen I've always dreamed about.  OK, maybe not the one I've always dreamed about, but the one we can afford.  I ran out of places to go, so we are locked in the back room.  Whoo Hoo!  Listening to pounding, hammering and some other noise that just plain makes me cringe.  I'm about to go and drop off one of the children to play with a friend and I guess the other one and I will find something nice to do together.

I'm deep breathing, for serenity.
