Hello 40, Nice to meet you.

Today is my 40th birthday and well its  been an exciting 24 hours.  Evil people in my family conspired against me and threw me a surprise 40th birthday party.  I walked into "SURPRISE" with no make-up on not my best T-shirt and flip flops.  My toenails were not even painted.

I got some fabulous things for my birthday, although the most fun was a baby.  Yes, I said a baby and no I'm not pregnant (again that will never happen again - I promise) and no new animals were introduced to me.  Perplexed??  Well, my cousin Brandon and his wife Lizzie had their baby on MY birthday, MINE.  Cool.  Her name is Macy Jennifer although I'm not sure how they are spelling the Macy I'm just guessing.  I haven't seen a picture yet, but I can't wait to post it as soon as I see it.  I now have girl cousins from two out of my three cousins - Evan, don't go there yet.

I got my camera - the hot, very hot Nikon D90.  Thank you husband, I got wine, a couple of cool hand-painted wine glasses.  Some fun and excited gift cards.  The nicest present of course was having my friends and family around me to celebrate this awful, I mean wonderful, occasion in my life.  Getting old and decrepit.  My scooter is on its way, because apparently, things just start crapping out randomly when you reach my old age.

Total Randomness

This is so not my week.  This weekend I ended up with a sinus infection.  Now I've got that horrendous body acne that comes when your hormones reach red on the reactor.  I have one really bad one under each bra strap.  Oh, and I've got an infected hair follicle - yes, there.

I've come to realize that my sweet, sweet Zelda is not coming home.  Zelda, is my 12+ year old Russian Blue who has been sick - IBD or irritable bowel disease - she is also prone to wander sometimes.  Well, she hasn't been seen since Christmas Day.  I don't think she's coming home.  I miss her, my little E is sick to death because she had been sleeping with him and he is such a lover of the animals.  She also got really pissed off when Hunter got Mario.  She had been abandoned and abused and we took care of her.  I hope she knew how much we loved her.

I'm beating my husband on Lego Star Wars: TCS.  Yes, I have 72.8% done - he's not over 30% yet.  HA! HA!  I suck at video games, and my husband usually kicks as**, well, I guess the tables have turned.  Its so good to excel at things.

E is getting an expander in his mouth tomorrow because his jaw is not big enough for all his teeth to come in.  Hours at the dentist tomorrow is not going to be fun.

OH, I finally purchased one of my favorite movies and it came today.  YEA!  Hanover Street.  Girls, put it in your que in NetFlix is you haven't seen it.  I guarantee you man will even sit and watch it as there is WWII going on and bombs and spy stuff, but there is a young Harrison Ford & a really good love story.

I'm still moving.

Well, it seems that I've been a little lax about posting lately, I will probably totally make up for it today. I worked out Wed & Friday - 388 calories burned Wed & 338 on Friday. At least I have continued to maintain my workout schedule. My pants are a little big on me today, but it maybe because all I ate was tomato soup for dinner last night, the scale still has me at the same weight.

I've been very good about keeping a food diary and will maintain it for the month (without conveniently forgetting to write down something) and then I'm off to the a new doctor to see if we can't determine what is really going on.

Attitude is everything so I'm trying to stay positive.

Determined.

I am determined to do something about my weight. So far, I have re-started my food diary in hopes of convincing the world I am not eating that much. I've exercised out the wazoo today. I spent 30 minutes at Curves - got weighed and measured so I can track my progress. I burned a good 382 calories, and this afternoon I spent an hour raking the front yard of leaves and evil acorns. That should be worth something. My big complaint is that my shoulders and hips are killing me. I spoke with my father today and he thinks I could have a food allergy so I guess the food diary will help with that too. I'm giving myself a month then I'm off to a different doctor for whatever still ails me.
